Shisha in Sedgefield

The shipment from the Middle East has arrived at last. The house looks like Ali Baba’s cave, with 45 trunks spewing exotic wares – every surface is covered and we are eating all meals outside until we can find the dinning room table again.

We sampled one of the shisha pipes, with apple flavoured tobacco. Blissful on one of our rapidly dwindling summer nights.

It’s fun but a lot of slog. We are setting up a showroom upstairs in what would have been the lounge of the now defunct B & B – I’ll post pics as soon as it’s sorted. All we need to do is find customers.

    What are you selling?

It’s a lot of stuff from the Middle East that Gavin bought while he was over there. Beautiful hand painted trunks from Pakistan, ceramic art from Iran, fabrics etc

As soon as it’s sorted I’ll put up pics, the goods are amazing and quite unique – you don’t get much available here from Iran.

Of course, you can come and look in the flesh! Will let you know. . .

Ahem. You may be surprised to discover how easy it is to find customers 😉

I’m anxious to see the pics, of course, but can only imagine what kind of lovely mess you’re in. I say lovely because that’s the sort of thing I’d enjoy doing.

Now, the trick is firm resolve to actually sell some of it. I developed a china collection because buying and selling turned into just buying for a while. But I’m trying to atone for that now!

I know you would love to be involved in the unpacking – you are really still a big kid, one of (many) great things about you!

It’s all unpacked and looks stunning, already made sales! Will do pics later today or tomorrow – and, yeah, selling is a challenge, I can already see just how great some of those tiles would look in my garden . . .
