Post Christmas Pink Champagne

It’s all pastel shades here today – the sea is turqoiuse, the left-over Christmas champagne is pink, and the sun is hazy yellow.  Christmas dinner is eaten, presents unwapped, the recycling bags are full for tomorrow’s collection. Today started with an icy dip in clear sea water at 7am, and lunch on the deck has just been finished. It’s days like this when it’s great to be alive.

Happy Christmas to everyone all over the world!

Christmas table before ham and turkey carnage.

If you squint a little, the Vietnamese Healing Buddha looks a little like Santa. . .

What a splendid day that sounds! I remember you mentioning your love of pink and green – so a pastel day would be perfect.

Our Christmas was nice, but cold – truly cold for us. We’ll be to freezing tonight, and it’s only mid-forties now even with full sun. At least I have my computer monitor to huddle around!

What’s with the Star Gate Salon sign on the easel? There has to be a story. I see there’s one in Abu Dhabi, and that looks like Arabic to my untrained eye…. Do tell!

Happy Christmas shore! Super observant as usual! Yip, the sign is from Abu Dhabi. It was used by the hair dressing salon opposite the flat in which we stayed, I woke up to a looming Brad Pitt every morning. Copy right images and royalties don’t count for much over there, and pics of Tom Cruise and Brad are freely used to advertise everything from hair cuts to suits.

We loved the sign, and one day Gavin saw them replacing it with a new one. He scrounged it out of the tip, rolled it up, and brought it home. And, here it is, in our dining room in Sedgefield.

Stay warm and keep the blood circulating by throwing wrapping balls for Dixie!

LOVE these pictures! (had to laugh at your reference to “carnage” at the table)!

a 7 am swim. How delightful. I’m not kidding. I love to swim far more than I like trudging about in the snow to walk the dogs.
I love to swim far more than scraping ice and snow from the car after its being parked in the mall parking lot for a mere 10 minutes.
I love to swim…ah, you get the drift. (ah, see? there’s another snow reference – drift. sheesh.)

And the Buddha (squint Santa) is wonderful. the size of it!
Holiday hugs to you and your family – and after all Christmas carries on ’til the 6 Jan!
