Summer days, drifting away. . .

Six weeks of summer holidays, and it’s back to school on Monday. The boys are depressed, they thought the break would never end.

I feel sorry for them, my favourite day of school was the last day ever. When someone tells me the best years of their lives were their school days, I just know we’ll never be close friends.

Today was hair cut day in preparation for the return to school uniform. Shorts, no shirts, and long sea-stained hair are over – at least until the April holidays.

Yesterday . . .

. . . and today.

Absolutely priceless. But only six weeks’ summer holiday? We always got Memorial Day to Labor Day (end of May to first of September) and thought that three months flew by!

Don’t they look focused, though? There has to be some mugging for the camera going on there.

I love to learn, but I’m with you on school. When mom found out I’d tossed all of my high school annuals, she about had a coronary. “But how will you REMEMBER those years?”, she asked. “Precisely,” said me. 😉

Yikes! Three months? No wonder American’s have summer camp.

And yes, total mugging going on – they’re at that age where you cannot get a photo without a face being pulled or bunny ears appearing at the top of every head.
