A win would have been fabulous, but we could not have asked for a better World Cup opening. The first goal, of the first Cup held in Africa, scored by an African team. Not just any African team, but by Bafana Bafana. The Beach Bar was packed, the atmosphere was ecstatic, and the headaches the next day were stoically borne.
